Barth has an Engineering degree from California Polytechnic starting with General Dynamics Electric Boat and most recently for SpaceX. He has expertise in the design, manufacture and testing of advanced composite structures in modern yacht and aerospace manufacturing including satellite launch vehicle fairings.

With a Masters degree in project management he has overseen new ship builds and has been responsible for ship CAD modeling for both construction and design.

Brought up club racing, his father and grandfather are both winning Chicago - Mackinac race skippers.

He's also a high time pilot, passionate kitesurfer and novice tow surfer currently learning to hydrofoil.
