HUGH MURRAY, President

Hugh Murray has been the CEO at The Catamaran Company since May 1996.

He has been involved in the Marine Industry since 1986 when he started as the Chief Financial Officer for Stevens Yachts Inc. In 1990 he became President of Sunsail USA with responsibility for the US and Caribbean Operations and in 1996 he was appointed as President of The Catamaran Company, which at that time was called Catamaran Charters and Sales.

Over the past two decades the company has evolved from simply selling and chartering catamarans into an all-encompassing catamaran operation which now owns and operates various marinas specializing in catamarans in Florida, Maryland and the BVI, building and distributing through independent dealers our own catamarans under the "Gemini Catamarans" brand name, owning and publishing various magazine titles such as "Multihulls" magazine and "Gemini Gems" and operating the world's best known and largest catamaran website, The Catamaran Company. The two original functions of charters and sales have also grown with charter reservations having been expanded through our "Catamaran Sailing Vacations" to become the world's largest independent broker for catamaran charters and the retail of new and used catamarans has been expanded from our one initial office in Fort Lauderdale to offices spread across the USA and UK.

The Catamaran Company continues to be the world's largest new catamaran dealer, but is also the world's largest retailer of used catamarans, achieving sales of over 100 used catamarans on an annualized basis over the last 5 years. We have achieved the honored distinction of being the Lagoon World Dealer of the Year for more years than any other company.
