Heading on September 2017... and new products!

The season has undeniably been wonderful with the presentation of the SEVENTY 7, Lagoon's brand new flagship catamaran, and a strong appearance on the boat shows.

The turquoise brand continues its momentum with not only one, but two new products for this fall: the 40 and the 50. Discover in this press kit the first 3D images in exclusivity.

Meanwhile, you will find in this press kit all our latest news and all information about our models and our shipyard.

42, 450 S, 52 S and 560...

Exhibited at the International Multihull Boat Show

The 8th edition of the International Multihull Boat Show will take place from April 19 to 23, 2017 at la Grande Motte. As every year, the turquoise brand will be holding a stand where four carefully selected Lagoon models will be showcased: the 42, 450 S, 52 S and the 560.

The 42 is the ideal catamaran for sailors who refuse to choose between space and performance. Since her launch, the 42 has been praised by the international press for her comfort and sea-going qualities. The architects VPLP have equipped her with a modern and refined design. As for the interior, it was entrusted to Nauta Design, which managed to create a harmonious, spacious and bright living space. Under her elegant silhouette and flowing curves hides a velocity that will satisfy any thrill-seeker. Her performances under sails were lauded at the ARC race, where she won the 3rd place in the Multihull Division Class B.

45 feet is a mythical size for catamarans: outdoor spaces as large as the interior cabins offer incredible freedom of movement. The 450 S helm station is ideal for smaller crews. This catamaran guarantees an incomparable comfort at sea, even in case of rough conditions, thanks to the gull-wing shape of her bridge deck. It is resolutely environmental-friendly thanks to its Alpi® wood interior carpentry.

Exhibited at the International Multihull Boat Show

The 52 comes in two versions: a ‹‹S›› SporTop version and a ‹‹F›› FlyBridge version. At la Grande Motte, the SporTop version will be presented - ideal for short-handed crews. Indeed, the helm station is located on the roof partition, hence allowing a direct contact with the cockpit. This catamaran is spacious, elegant, comfortable, safe and easy to use. The 52 S also stands out for its excellent performance under sails, as evidenced by the ARC+ 2016 results (1 st and 3 rd places).

Bluewater and luxurious, the 560 focuses on the great outdoors, offering unrivaled customization possibilities. By combining the world-renowned talents of VPLP architects and Nauta design, the 560 offers up to 5 completely independent cabins, a spectacular square and the possibility to choose between a kitchen in the saloon or in the port hull. Whatever the configuration chosen, she was designed to host.

Introducing the new Lagoon 40

Launching in Fall 2017

Two models cannot be combined in one without creating a rich ‹‹blend of know-how››. This is a successful wager for the new 40.

This new Lagoon represents the symbiosis of Lagoon's two generations of 39 and 400: a receding rig for higher performance, a self-steering jib for easier maneuvering, a larger space and warm comfort give us the new 40-foot vision for Lagoon.

The cockpit is reminiscent of the 42, and its design was entirely conceived by Nauta Design. We are proud to present below this 40, available in 3 and 4 cabins.

Introducing the new Lagoon 50

Launching in Fall 2017

The missing link!

As many could notice, there was a ‹‹small gap›› between 450 and 52. This new model is the result of a long conception process and study.

Imagine an incredible space together with the increased performance of the new Lagoon rig. Stir well, let it rest and you will get the new 50, available in 3, 4 and even 6 cabins.

Introducing the new Lagoon 42...

A 100 th hull and 4 rewards in 2016

From north to south and from east to west, the 42 has something for everyone. Her design, performance and comfort have managed to bring together the greatest experts in the profession and delight the boaters.

In early March, the shipyard celebrated the launch of the 100 th 42 hull! An incredible figure realized in 1 year, which shows that the owners were more than seduced by her charm.

This catamaran also aroused the enthusiasm of the international nautical press. Indeed, since its launch in January 2016, the 42 won no less than four awards! In April 2016, the boat was awarded ‹‹best sailing catamaran›› jointly by the China- Pacific Boating and Asia-Pacific Boating magazines at the Asia Boating Awards . In September 2016, the 42 was named ‹‹best multihull of the year›› by the British publication Sailing Today . At the end of 2016, the catamaran obtained the favors of two reference magazines from the American nautical press. SAIL Magazine awarded her the prize of the best 40 to 50 feet cruise multihull in November. Then, Cruising World crowned the 42 in December ‹‹best boat of the year›› in the category of catamarans less than 50 feet.

Finally, we had a good proof of the performance of this boat in real conditions of use. Indeed, as part of the 31 st edition of the ARC race, 42 Merci Papa (USA) won the 3rd place in the Class B Multihull Division. We congratulate the crew for this great result!

ARC 2016...

The 42 Merci Papa on social media

In order to follow the 42 Merci Papa throughout the ARC race, a communication interface had been set up on Facebook via the Lagoon Attitude page, enabling to follow the crew's adventures aboard the boat. The principle, inspired by the logbook, was the following: a daily episode invited sailing enthusiasts aboard the 42. By exposing their day-to-day life on board, the team members of Merci Papa were able to share beautiful photos of the Atlantic Ocean and the smile on their faces even in dead calms.

The Facebook followers were present: comments, messages of encouragement and ‹‹likes››; all of which have certainly contributed to the 3 rd place in the Class B Multihull Division.

SEVENTY 7...

crossed the Atlantic

Last December, Lagoon did not hesitate a second to send its newest boat, the SEVENTY 7 called Seven Seas , to the conquest of America while sailing through the Atlantic Ocean. Much more than a boat delivery, this adventure allowed a full-scale test before the Miami boat show in February, confirming the excellent results of the in-house tests during the development of the boat.

During the 30 days of navigation necessary to reach the Strictly Sail Miami from February 16-20, 2017, the crew experienced all possible weather conditions. This transatlantic was the perfect opportunity to confirm Lagoon designers and builders' expertise and highlighted the exceptional sea-going qualities of Seven Seas , while offering incomparable comfort to her crew.

An episode that shows that all the oceans open before the bow of SEVENTY 7...

SEVENTY 7

Photo

This more than 23-metre yacht marks an important step towards a world in which luxury and refinement are the watchwords. Lagoon brought together an illustrious team for the design of its flagship: VPLP, Patrick Le Quément and Nauta Design. All have strived to produce a catamaran where harmony reigns between the interior and exterior living spaces, where compromise does not exist, where innovation enhances your comfort and your life at sea.

SEVENTY 7 ...

Genesis of this Lagoon ‹‹superyacht››

Creating a new model such as the SEVENTY 7 within an already very extensive range was a challenge.

Lagoon, with over 30 years' experience and nearly 4,000 catamarans built, wanted to take up this challenge to fulfill the wishes of owners in search of another dimension.

The SEVENTY 7 marks an important step towards a world in which luxury and refinement are the watchwords.

Lagoon brought together an illustrious team for the design of its flagship:

  • VPLP, the French naval architects with the most awards in the world of racing multihulls and also the most experienced in cruising multihulls.
  • Patrick Quément, the internationally renowned designer.
  • Nauta Design, the Italian interior design firm that operates in both the mass-production boat universe (a partner of Lagoon since 2010) and the world of superyachts up to 600'.

SEVENTY 7 ...

The exterior

Mast height: 36,60 m / 120'1"
Sail area: 335,4 m² / 3609 sqft
Standing rigging: Kevlar
Running rigging: Dynema
Genoa furler: Harken hydraulique
Staysail furler (option): Harken hydraulique
Main sail: 205 m² / 2206 sqft
Genoa: 130,4 m² / 1403 sqft
Staysail: 81 m² / 872 sqft
Asymetrical spinnaker: 458 m² / 4928 sqft
Code 0 : 208 m² / 2238 sqft

Elements which give sense to the SEVENTY 7 The boat's curves from bow to stern, from hull side to flybridge: every line is incorporated seamlessly into the whole.

The large hull portholes allow generous amounts of light into the interior.

The forward cockpit is directly accessible from the deck and the saloon.

The massive flybridge offers an impressive additional living space, while remaining an integral part of the boat.

The aft cockpit and huge transom.

SEVENTY 7 ...

The saloon and cockpit area

The saloon
It offers a dining area to port and a lounge area to starboard. The large windows and exceptional headroom provide an outstanding panoramic view: the result of skillful work, conducted so as to provide elegant proportions externally and a perception of maximized space and light internally.

On the port side, an initial adaptable space enables transformation of the passageway area into a desk/chart table corner. The navigation station, equipped with two navigation screens, is the ideal place to oversee the boat's status, access key controls and navigate in complete safety at night or in bad weather.

To starboard, two inviting sofas form a cozy saloon, creating a more private space. The major advantage of this space is its dedicated direct access to the forward cockpit.

The cockpit
Open to the foredeck, it offers a superb view of the horizon. Slightly sunken in comparison with the forward trampoline to ensure protection when under way, it is the perfect place for watching sunsets when at anchor or on passage. From the aft deck to the forward trampoline, all the spaces are connected and become one. The SEVENTY 7 thus offers an outstanding play platform and living space.

Photo

SEVENTY 7 ...

The owner's suite

The distinguishing feature of this new Lagoon resides in the creation of a true living space dedicated to the owner, independent of the rest of the vessel. Located in the forward hull area, the owner's suite enjoys the benefit of a living space on two levels, one on the main deck and the other in the hull.

The freedom of movement is unique with a direct private access from the saloon to the cockpit and foredeck, and for the very first time on a sailing yacht (option) a direct access to the sea by virtue of a «private beach» on the outboard side of the hull. Two key spaces complete the ingredients of this owner's suite: a real wardrobe fitted out «like at home» and a large, bright and spacious bathroom.

The private beach
When one chooses the optional cabin layout, the large sofa surrenders its place to the sea! In fact, a miracle of hydraulic technology makes it possible to open the interior space to the outside in complete safety. This platform creates a private beach overlooking the sea, providing direct access to the water and a unique view of the horizon. A magical place to enjoy the sun, sea and sky from morning to evening...

Photo Photo

SEVENTY 7 ...

The guest cabins

The starboard aft guest cabin
Located aft, where the hull beam is the most generous, this cabin is revealed in all its glory from its private access from the saloon. An island bed (1.60 m x 2.05 m) with a rounded shape is placed in the center of this guest snug and cozy living area accommodation of more than 15 m² which, complete with its bathroom and private toilet, provides a high-quality amenity for guests.

The port forward guest cabin
Accessible from the port forward passageway, this cabin stands up to comparison with the large spaces of the stern cabins. Its large bed (1.70m x 2.05m) positioned opposite the large hull porthole, guaranteeing a magnificent view on waking. In the starboard hull 3-cabin layout option, this ‹‹VIP area›› of more than 16 m² will entirely fulfill the role of owner's cabin!

Photo Photo

SEVENTY 7 ...

The crew quarters

The crew area, with its galley, is located at the forward or aft area of the boat, depending on the desired layout. It's a true apartment guarantying comfort and intimacy.

With a total of more than 20 m² (215 sq.ft.), the crew area comprises: - A galley, a dining area away from guests' eyes, and also a second control station fitted with electronic navigation equipment so as to always have an eye on the course and the boat's general operational status.
- Various living spaces : a laundry, a twin berth, desk, private washroom...

In the case of a large crew, the volume and headroom in the two forepeaks enable doubling of the number of berths, thus providing crew sleeping capacity for 6 people.

Because a crew working in good conditions inevitably results in a happy owner and guests, we wished to increase the level of comfort in this living space.

Photo Photo

SEVENTY 7 ...

The custom area

Create your own SEVENTY 7

For the more demanding, 25 m² of space can be configured entirely as you wish. This option is available only in the «forward galley and crew quarter» version, as the customizable space is that of the aft portion of the port hull. We'll let you explore some of the possible configurations, and we invite you to let your imagination run wild!

Partnership

For 50 years, Sunbrella has been established as the gold standard in the world of marine fabrics.

Sharing the same performance and upmarket values, the Lagoon and Sunbrella brands are combining today to create a new design signature, transposing the French lifestyle codes to the nautical world.

Design and performance, Sunbrella fabrics' winning formula, has been adopted by the greatest names in yachting around the world. These two great French brands' initial collaboration came into being with the Lagoon 560 Imagine last September.

Today, a new step has been taken with the creation of textile environments overturning the sector's traditional codes. Equipping the entire Lagoon fleet, this new upholstery is based around an environment with a strong personality, providing perfect harmony between interior and exterior living spaces.

Based upon shades of grey, the catamarans below 52 feet see their intimate atmosphere developed to transform the cockpit into a truly welcoming and contemporary saloon. True environments are created, linking interior and exterior, leaving scope for numerous decorative options.

The link between interior and exterior life on catamarans above 53 feet is based around contrasting upholstery and cushions. In two colours, with refined finishes, they lift the whole with their elegant details and provide scope to mix and match. In the Adriatic and Paprika environments, this bold new design signature enables the collaboration between Lagoon and Sunbrella to redefine nautical decor. Through their colour combinations, the decorative cushions enhance the atmosphere to create an interior like at home.

450 S

The 450 S revisits the FlyBridge version of the 450: with a more conventional and secure helm station, it provides more direct communication with the crew in the cockpit, as well as a lowered rig. This further reduces pitching and makes access to the boom easier, whilst keeping the same sail surface. As for the interiors, Lagoon asked Nauta to focus even more on ergonomics, comfort and space.

450 F

A real success story - with more than 500 boats built since autumn 2010 - the 450 benefits from major advances in terms of safety, performance and quality of life on board: transoms with improved protection, a larger cockpit and easier access to the helm station...not to mention a superb sunbathing area on the flybridge. The new interior layout designed by Nauta for the 450 S - which combines space, style and comfort - can obviously also be found in the FlyBridge version of the 450.

52 F

NEW FLYBRIDGE

The 52 F marks a new phase in the design of cruising catamarans. It has diamond-shaped vertical bows, beveled hulls, a ‘suspended' deckhouse and streamlined rigging, but its originality does not stop at its outward appearance or even its internal layout. The sometimes radical choices that we made in designing this boat reflect our desire to remain faithful to what we believe in, whether in terms of style, comfort, safety, user-friendliness or – it goes without saying – performance under sail.

560

The 560 gave Lagoon a strong lead in terms of comfort, ergonomics and style. The 2014 version offers an additional choice of layouts which are unequaled for this size of catamaran: up to 5 fully independent cabins and the choice between a central galley (in the salon) and a lateral galley (in the port hull). The 560 offers a spectacular salon, whatever the chosen layout. The choice of materials has been given particular attention, with a teak or oak finish (option) and several inside atmospheres created by Nauta.

In 2016, Lagoon is launching the "Imagine" edition of the 560, in partnership with Sunbrella.

LAOON CUSTOM

bespoke catamarans from CNB

CNB has been building Lagoon catamarans of over 50 feet since 1999. It therefore seemed logical for Lagoon, a world leader in building cruising catamarans, and CNB to join forces and develop a new generation of catamarans for their respective clients - bigger, better, more 'CNB' superyachts...
With expertise in both aluminium and high-tech composite, CNB is one of only a handful of manufacturers that allows its clients to choose the material best suited to their sailing plan.
The biggest names in naval architecture have joined forces with Lagoon and CNB to design these sail or motor- driven super-catamarans, including Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prévost, Philippe Brand, Bill Dixon and Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design.

Several projects drawn up for Lagoon Custom have attracted potential clients, with discussions on specifications and costs are available on request.
